The oldest sections of The Ogles Neighborhood subdivisions were started in 1953 and 1954. Many of the early homes were 3 bed/1 bath and around 1000 sq ft. Over the years, some of those homes with basements added additional rooms and a 2nd bath downstairs (like mine). The 3rd bedrooms in these homes have doors into the hallway and kitchen allowing the room to be used as a Dining Room or a Bedroom. Some 2 bedroom homes were built as 2 bedrooms, however, many 3 bedroom homes have been converted to 2 bedroom homes, with portions of walls removed around the 3rd bedroom to make a Dining Room open to the Kitchen and Living Room. Young home buyers looking for entry level homes, single people and retired people are attracted to these smaller 1000 sq ft 2 and 3 bedroom homes.
Homes in the additions to the subdivisions built out since 1960 are much larger two story and split level homes. A family of 6 or more can find homes with plenty of room in The Ogles Neighborhood.
